He’s faster than a speeding bullet and more powerful than a locomotive.  Superman is indeed super but not immortal.  We know that the yellow sun is the source of his powers but yet all it takes is some Kryptonite to do him harm.  In the recent Dawn of Justice film, in Bruce Wayne wielded a Kryptonite-laced spear in his arsenal during a battle against Kal-El.  This portrays that even a human has a chance to win against the thought to be unlikely.
